About me
After completing my PhD at the Australian National University in the 1990s, I moved to Japan to work in medical research for 4 years. However, I quickly realised that I enjoyed the writing more than the lab work! When I returned to Australia, I discovered that there is a career called editing, and I haven’t looked back since.
In 2004 I started my training as a professional editor, working mainly on government scientific publications. I became an accredited editor in 2009, passing a written examination administered by the Australian Institute of Professional Editors. And in 2013 I launched MD Writing and Editing, to help academics get published faster.
Fast forward to 2024, and I am now a professional coach. Having worked with academics for so many years, I understand that there can be many reasons why people don’t make progress on their writing tasks. I can not only teach you my efficient writing strategy, but I can also help you overcome various mindset and emotional obstacles that are stopping you from publishing enough.
I’d love to connect with you on Threads, Instagram or LinkedIn. Or, if you need help ASAP, send me an email through my Contact page. I look forward to hearing from you.
